Job summary

Alpha is hiring a Lead Guide to coach and develop Guides, lead life-skills workshops, and drive student success across multiple campuses. This role focuses on building a high-expectation culture, using data to lift performance, and enabling rapid school expansion.

The position requires 5+ years in education/leadership, a willingness to work on-site, and a strong commitment to an innovative K-12 model that rejects traditional lectures. Relocation support is available.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work on-site at an Alpha campus (relocation support available: Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Greenwich, CT)
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in education, coaching, learning and development, or a related leadership role
• Experience leading and developing teams of five or more people, including hiring and making performance-based termination decisions
• Demonstrated success using data to drive performance improvements
• Experience working with children ages 5-14 in an educational, coaching, or developmental setting
• Experience building or launching a new team, program, business, school, or initiative, with willingness to help open a new campus from zero
• Willingness to work in a school model that rejects traditional lecture-based pedagogy
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Coaching Guides to consistently deliver exceptional student experiences while maintaining Alpha's high standards.
• Leading engaging life skills workshops that develop communication, leadership, focus, and other real-world skills for K-12 students.
• Motivating students to achieve ambitious learning goals and maximize progress in their self-directed academic programs.
• Using data, observation, and coaching conversations to improve Guide performance and student outcomes.
• Helping launch and establish new Alpha campuses by building a culture centered on excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
