Job summary

Richmond Community Services is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional to take on a leadership role within our residential programs. You will remain involved in direct support while guiding and mentoring staff, ensuring smooth shift transitions and adherence to best practices.

You will coordinate daily activities, promote teamwork, and oversee documentation, health monitoring, and medication-related tasks, reporting concerns to management as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a DSP at Richmond.
• Ability to lead by example and coach others.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily shift activities and ensure responsibilities are followed.
• Serve as on-shift resource and mentor for DSPs.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and effective communication.
• Ensure required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Reinforce procedures for medication, health monitoring, and records.
• Communicate health, safety, staffing, and operational concerns to management.
