Job summary

Patterson-UTI is seeking a Driller to monitor well conditions and drilling parameters, operate the drilling rig and supervise the rig crew for safe, efficient operations. You will coordinate with Derrickhand, Motorhand and Floorhands, communicate with Customer representatives and Directional Driller, and ensure adherence to safety procedures on all shifts.

Role involves 14 days on/14 days off rotations, outdoor work in varied weather, requiring high school diploma and Well Control certification;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six (6) months of experience as a Driller on a drilling rig.
• Twelve (12) months of stable related work history.
• Experience with Amphion and/or Omron dual joystick rigs.
• Certification: Well Control Certification, IADC WellSHARP, or ability to obtain certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee drilling activities and monitor rig employees and third parties.
• Perform drilling operations from the Driller console: raising/lowering drill stem, lowering casing, mud pumps, rotation speed, weight on bit.
• Ensure regular maintenance of all equipment and safety procedures.
• Communicate with Rig Manager and Directional Driller as necessary.
• Lead, train, and develop all rig employees.
