Driller Lead — Regional Rig Operations

Job summary

Patterson-UTI is seeking a Driller to monitor well conditions and drilling parameters, operating and supervising the rig crew on a regional site. The role requires leadership capabilities, English communication, and safety-focused execution of drilling tasks.

Expect to engage with rig teams, Customer representatives, and Directional Driller, maintain logs, and ensure equipment readiness during long, 12.5-hour tours on a 14/14 rotation schedule in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate ability to successfully complete all duties of a Floorhand, Motorhand and Derrickhand.
• Must be able to use a computer and multiple monitors to track drilling activities.
• Must be able to verbally communicate directions and expectations effectively to the rig crew and third parties.
• Able to repetitively climb steep stairs and lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces.
• Must be comfortable working at heights (50 ft or greater) for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Stand or sit at the Driller’s console for long shifts and monitor drilling operations.
• Oversee drilling activities and supervise rig crew and third parties.
• Maintain daily logs and Tour Sheets of drilling activities.
• Ensure regular maintenance of equipment and safety procedures.
• Communicate with Rig Manager and Directional Driller as needed.
