Job summary

Patterson-UTI is seeking a Floorhand to support day-to-day rig operations at regional sites. You will assist in drilling activities, perform maintenance and cleaning, and help ensure safe movement of drilling equipment in a high‑tempo environment.

This entry‑level position provides introductory and on‑the‑job training, with opportunities to develop skills in pipe handling, rig moves, and safety protocols across a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work long shifts.
• Six months experience as a Floorhand on a Drilling Rig.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds independently.
• Willing to travel to remote locations on a rotational schedule (14 days on/14 days off).
• Must be able to pass pre-employment testing and background checks.

Responsibilities

• The Floorhand assists the Motorhand, Derrickhand, and Driller in day-to-day rig operations and performs general maintenance and cleaning of the rig.
• Responsible for making drill pipe connections and tripping pipe in/out of the drilling hole.
• Support crew with rig moves, up/rig-down, and handling of drill strings and components.
• Regularly check rig and equipment for safety issues and address hazards as needed.
• Assist in inspection, sawing and cutting drilling lines and maintaining PPE and safety procedures.
