Job summary

PPL Electric Utilities is seeking a senior engineering leader to direct daily activities of engineers and technicians across related fields. You will supervise, coach, and mentor staff, ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-effective solutions while guiding safety leadership and engineering standards across the organization.

The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing budgets, and driving continuous improvement in engineering output.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an ABET Accredited school in Engineering or Engineering technology.
• 5+ years of Engineering experience, or a master’s degree in engineering plus 3 years, or a PhD in Engineering plus 2 years.
• Demonstrated leadership skills by achieving positive results under non-ideal circumstances.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry codes and standards in the electric utility sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct and organize work group activities to meet deadlines.
• Evaluate direct reports for development and build expertise.
• Develop leadership skills and coordinate technical training.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve department goals and company objectives.
• Prepare, monitor and forecast the department budget.
• Supervise engineers/technicians across multiple locations and develop teams.
• Set priorities and coordinate with other supervisors to ensure task completion.
• Lead storm restoration efforts and participate in drills.
