Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and deliver enterprise-grade software powering clinician experiences and performance management. You will architect and build highly distributed, large-scale systems, set technical direction, and mentor the team to raise the bar.

The role requires hands-on development across full-stack, strong SQL, and cloud expertise (Azure/AWS/GCP). Expect quarterly travel and collaboration across functions to deliver value in health care technology.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in software engineering: problem solving, data structures, algorithms, patterns, concurrency.
• Experience as a polyglot software engineer with multiple languages (C++, C#, Java, Golang, Javascript/Typescript, Python).
• 6+ months of experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude).
• Experience using full-stack development to ship and operate large-scale systems.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of RDBMS such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Deep experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems end-to-end in production environments.
• Experience with modern front-end technologies (React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS/JavaScript) and full-stack patterns.
• Strong experience with cloud vendors: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Willingness to travel quarterly or as needed.
• 7-10 years of work experience.
