The role involves collaborations with nursing, attending to residents' dietary needs, and ensuring quality meals while adhering to standards. Eligible candidates will have a Dietetics degree and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Dietitian in healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferred.
• One to two years management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MDS, care planning, and clinical documentation standards.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing dietary and nutritional services.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the dietary department and provides supervision to the dietary staff to ensure residents' nutritional needs are met.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Participates in department and interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
• Oversees purchase of food and supplies within budget and maintains adequate meal coverage.
• Provides guidance on diet planning, menu formulation, preparation, and service of regular and therapeutic diets.
• Ensures menus meet resident nutritional needs and physician orders.
• Interviews residents or family members to obtain diet history.
• Maintains records of residents' food likes and dislikes.
• Verifies charted nutrition progress notes and resident responses to services.
• Monitors weekly/monthly weights and collaborates with nursing for recommendations.
