Job summary

Ciena Healthcare seeks a qualified Dietitian/Nutrition Supervisor to oversee the dietary department, ensuring nutritional adequacy for residents and adherence to policies and regulations. You will supervise staff, manage menus, and coordinate with nursing and care planning teams.

Responsibilities include budgeting for food, ensuring diet orders are followed, and maintaining accurate nutrition records. A relevant degree, dietitian registration, and supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field is required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Dietitian in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferred.
• One to two years of management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MDS, care planning, and clinical documentation standards.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing dietary and nutritional services.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the dietary department and provides supervision to the dietary staff to ensure residents' nutritional needs are met.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in line with organizational policies and laws.
• Participates in department head meetings and care plan meetings.
• Oversees purchase of food and supplies within budget to cover meals.
• Provides guidance on diet planning, menu formulation, and service of regular and therapeutic diets.
• Ensures menus meet nutritional needs and physician orders.
• Interviews residents or family members to obtain diet history and records diet preferences.
• Maintains records of residents' food likes and dislikes; notes nutrition progress.
