Job summary

Ciena Healthcare in Michigan is seeking a Dietitian Manager to oversee the Dietary Department, including staffing, ordering, preparation, and service aligned with physician orders and resident care plans.

You will supervise diet planning, menu formulation, and regulatory compliance, ensure nutritional needs are met, and collaborate with nursing to monitor progress and budgets. A Bachelor’s in Dietetics and active registration are required, with supervisory experience valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Dietitian in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferred.
• One to two years management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MDS, care planning, and clinical documentation standards.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing dietary and nutritional services.

Responsibilities

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Participates in department head meetings and interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
• Oversees purchase of food and supplies within budget and maintains adequate meal coverage.
• Provides guidance over diet planning, menu formulation, preparation and service of regular and therapeutic diets.
• Ensures menus meet resident nutritional needs and physician orders.
• Interviews residents or family members to obtain diet history as needed.
• Maintains records of resident food likes/dislikes and charted nutrition progress.
• Monitors weights and collaborates with nursing to make recommendations.
• Maintains sanitation and safe food handling practices and regulatory compliance.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field

Registered Dietitian (CDR)

Dietitian licensure as required by state
