Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Design-Build Design Manager to lead transportation infrastructure projects in the East Region. You will oversee design-build and other delivery methods, working with a broad network of experts to drive excellence for clients and communities.

Ideal candidates bring substantial leadership in design-build transportation, a PE license, and experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams with contractors and DOTs.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience leading design-build projects, preferably in transportation.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams with contractors, joint-venture partners and Consultants.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer.
• Experience on transportation projects with DOT and established local relationships.
• Knowledge of industry/design standards across lifecycle from design to construction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to support multi-state pursuits and alternative delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, consulting, design, and alternative delivery work with client relationships.
• Serve as main client contact on assigned projects to meet expectations.
• Oversee delivery of large-scale Design-Build and other projects.
• Provide direction to project teams coordinating with stakeholders and contractors.
• Manage proposals, staffing, budgets, and schedules to meet milestones.
• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and site visits as needed.
• Ensure adherence to Jacobs’ Quality Program and improve project quality.
• Mentor emerging professionals and build regional design presence.
