Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer to lead hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance in critical facilities. You will oversee facilities operations, drive reliability, safety, and efficiency for mission‑critical data centers worldwide.

You will manage a team of engineers and technicians, coordinate with IT and business leaders, and deliver on milestones, cost quotes, and project results across global facilities. U.S.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant technical position.
• 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 3+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
• 4+ years of data center engineering experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for all facilities‑related issues.
• Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for engineers and vendor teams.
• May assist in build out of new facilities and projects to increase efficiency.
• Work outside normal hours for routine maintenance and emergencies.
• Communicate complex technical information to a non‑technical audience.
• Coordinate projects with IT managers and business leaders to optimize safety and efficiency.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendors and staff.
• Establish building performance benchmarks and report on facility operations.
