Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems across its facilities.

You will coordinate preventive maintenance, respond to incidents, and act as the primary technical resource for Engineering Operations Technicians and vendors. This role requires travel between data centers, strong knowledge of power and cooling infrastructure, and the ability to translate complex technical information for

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical facilities maintenance.
• 2+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance.
• Experience reading procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• 3+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues.
• Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinate with Facility Manager.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor teams.
• Assist in building out new facilities and projects to increase facility efficiency.
• Work outside normal hours for routine maintenance and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Coordinate projects with IT managers and other business leaders to optimize safety and efficiency.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff.
• Establish building performance benchmarks, analyses, and reports on facility operations and maintenance.
• Utilize Excel, Word, Outlook for day-to-day tasks.
