Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Georgia is seeking a hands-on Data Center Engineer Operations role to lead and troubleshoot critical data-center facilities.

You will oversee electrical and mechanical systems, coordinate maintenance, and mentor technicians to ensure high uptime and safety. The position involves cross-functional collaboration with IT and facilities teams, overseeing projects from conception to completion, and driving standard practices across sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• 3+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance experience OR 3+ years electrical plus 2+ years mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues and oversee operations of critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures within internal SLAs.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinate with the Facility Manager.
• Create and deploy standard practices for engineering operations and vendor support teams.
• Assist in building out new facilities and improve facility efficiency.
• Work outside of normal hours for routine maintenance and after-hours calls.
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Coordinate projects with IT managers and business leaders to optimize plant safety and reliability.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed by vendors and staff.
• Establish performance benchmarks and prepare analytical reports for facility operations.
