Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Lead Engineer for our Data Centers in Columbus, GA. You will supervise and direct operating engineers in installation, repair, and maintenance of base building and critical system machinery, ensuring minimal disruption to services while leading a shift.

You will manage a team, oversee preventive maintenance, and coordinate with contractors. The role requires a High School diploma or GED plus 5+ years of supervisory experience, plus hands-on data

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus 5+ years of supervisory experience in operating engineering.
• Hands-on data center experience with UPS, generators and switchgear.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders to 30 ft and work at heights.
• Willingness to work varied schedules, holidays and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff, delegate tasks, and monitor performance.
• Manage service requests with minimal disruption.
• Direct contracted maintenance work and oversee warranty fulfillment.
• Implement and schedule preventive maintenance programs.
• Order parts and manage inventory for critical systems.
• Monitor and diagnose issues in fire/life safety, HVAC, electrical and water systems.
