Job summary

JLL, located in Columbus, GA, is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead a data center engineering team and ensure safe, reliable operations with 100% uptime. You will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, safety compliance, and incident resolution 24x7, coordinating with planners and technicians across HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Qualified candidates bring 4+ years in building engineering, data center experience, EPA 608, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical experience in building engineering with a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance.
• Experience working in Data Centers/Raised Floor Environment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Universal EPA 608 Certification and licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Google Suite.
• 2 years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in relevant craft skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for service impacting events involving the mechanical plant and lead incident response.
• Oversee and implement the MOP creation and ensure 100% uptime across the campus.
• Coordinate with planner scheduler to complete preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Develop training curricula for site operations teams using O&Ms and equipment manuals.
• Manage hiring, performance reviews, and day-to-day HR issues for the team.
• Perform safety inspections and ensure compliance with AHJ codes and laws.
