Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Columbus, GA seeks a Lead Engineer for Data Centers to supervise the maintenance of base building and critical systems, including UPS, generators, and switchgear. You will oversee shift operations, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safety standards are met while maintaining equipment reliability and response to emergencies.

This full-time on-site role requires a licensed operating engineer and a hands-on approach to preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with 5+ years of experience (including supervisory).
• Operating Engineers license (SMA) and Universal CFC Certification preferred.
• Hands-on data center experience with UPS, generators, and switchgear.
• Strong communication skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff, delegate tasks, and monitor performance.
• Manage service requests with minimal disruption.
• Direct contracted maintenance work and oversee warranty fulfillment.
• Implement and schedule preventative maintenance programs.
• Order parts and maintain inventory.
• Record readings, analyze operations, diagnose problems, and take corrective action.
