Job summary

JLL seeks a Lead Engineer, Data Centers to supervise operating engineers on site in Columbus, GA, directing installation, repair and preventive maintenance of base building and critical system machinery. You’ll oversee the shift, coordinate contractors and ensure uptime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED + 5+ years experience (including supervisory).
• Operating Engineers license (SMA) and Universal CFC Technician Certification.
• Hands-on data center experience with UPS systems, generators, and switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff, delegate tasks, and monitor performance.
• Manage service requests efficiently with minimal disruption.
• Direct contracted maintenance work and oversee warranty fulfillment.
• Implement and schedule preventative maintenance program.
• Order parts/equipment and maintain inventory.
• Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on all critical systems: fire/life safety, HVAC, plumbing, electrical (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, switchgear), emergency backup, boilers, refrigeration, and water systems.
• Record readings, analyze operations, diagnose problems, and take corrective action.
• Additional duties as requested.
