Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead engineering services for naval overhauls and repairs of HM&E and aviation systems on US Navy carriers.

The role requires active DoD clearance, extensive supervisory and carrier maintenance experience, and ability to guide ship's force through complex propulsion and damage control challenges. The position is located in Bremerton, WA, with travel as needed, and opportunities to coordinate with major shipyards and TYCOM programs.

Qualifications

• Active DoD security clearance required.
• 7+ years in engineering management or 14+ years with an Associate's degree.
• 5 years supervisory experience in naval carriers/surface ships maintenance/design.
• 3 years involved with carrier/surface ship maintenance, design, operation and other main propulsion problems.
• 2 years experience with auxiliary, electrical and damage control systems.
• 2 years experience with naval propulsion and related systems.
• 1 year experience in Naval Nuclear Secondary Plant Systems or NNPI knowledge.
• Up to 25% travel for CONUS/OCONUS.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams providing technical guidance on HM&E and aviation equipment interfacing with combat systems.
• Inspect, analyze, and repair naval propulsion and auxiliary machinery; advise on maintenance planning and repairs.
• Liaise with ship's reactor department before inspections and production work.
• Oversee fault identification and repairs on propulsion, electrical, and damage control systems.
• Provide technical support for operation, overhaul, and repair of hull, electrical, and aviation systems.
• Develop and train crew; create FWPs and CWPs per Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual.
• Manage personnel for short- and long-term contract efforts.
• Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
