Job summary

Pearson, a global learning company, seeks an experienced editor to ensure accuracy and consistency across assessment content. You will apply grammar, spelling, and style guidelines to diverse materials and collaborate across teams to maintain quality.

You will mentor colleagues, adapt to client style preferences, and contribute to continuous improvement of editorial processes, including AI-assisted workflows in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on‑the‑job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
• Strong copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation, and usage.
• Familiarity with major style guides (e.g., Chicago, Gregg, Garner’s).

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per standards.
• Ensures uniformity across assessment components and minimizes errors.
• Queries deviations from client style guidelines; may modify guidelines.
• Understands copyeditor’s scope and escalates concerns when needed.
• Seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise and stay current with best practices.
