Job summary

Pearson is seeking a lead editor to ensure high-quality editorial standards across assessment components. The role requires strong copyediting, troubleshooting style deviations, and mentoring within a collaborative team.

You will work with Editorial, Asset Services, Content, CDS, and Pearson to support publishing workflows and continuous improvement. The position emphasizes AI-enabled editorial use and rigorous quality control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on-the-job training.
• 3+ years editorial experience and 2+ years in educational assessment.
• Strong end-to-end copyediting across spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
• Proficient with major style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg Reference Manual, Garner’s Modern English Usage).
• Proficient with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office 365 apps; understands HTML/XML basics for web publishing.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department and client standards.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components throughout the workday.
• Applies client style guidelines or queries deviations for best outcomes; may modify guidelines.
• Understands copyeditor scope and flags concerns when needed.
• Seeks learning to strengthen editorial expertise and stay current with style guides.
