You will lead grammar, spelling, style alignment, and collaboration across departments, using AI tools judiciously and mentoring others. This position offers an hourly rate with opportunities for professional growth and impact in educational assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on‑the‑job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
• End‑to‑end copyediting proficiency: spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, diction, and usage.
• Familiarity with major style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg Reference Manual, Garner’s Modern English Usage).

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department, client, and industry standards; applies rules consistently.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components and identifies errors throughout the workday.
• Exercises good judgment when applying client style guidelines; queries deviations when appropriate and may modify guidelines.
• Understands copyeditor’s scope and flags concerns when needed.
• Proactively seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise and style knowledge.
