Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced editor in Boston to lead editorial efforts for assessment content, ensuring high quality across components and alignment with client style guidelines.

The role emphasizes end‑to‑end copyediting, adherence to standards, and collaboration with Content, Editorial, and IT teams. Knowledge of AI‑assisted content development and education assessment basics is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on‑the‑job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ experience in educational assessment.
• Strong copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
• Familiar with major style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg Reference Manual, Garner’s Modern English Usage).

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department and client standards.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components; identifies errors.
• Applies client style guidelines; queries deviations when needed and may modify guidelines.
• Leads where assigned and coordinates with multiple teams to ensure editorial quality.
• Seeks opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise and stay current with best practices.
