Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced editorial professional to join our Assessment & Qualifications team in the United States. You will lead editorial work across content for educational assessments, ensuring high-quality copyediting and adherence to style guidelines.

You will use Pearson platforms and collaborate across departments while staying current with publishing workflows and AI-assisted content development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent certification/on‑the‑job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ experience in educational assessment.
• Strong copyediting skills across spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department, client, and industry standards; applies rules consistently.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components; identifies errors and maintains focus.
• Applies client style guidelines and queries deviations when needed for best outcomes.
• Understands the copyeditor’s scope and flags concerns beyond scope as required.
• Proactively seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise and style knowledge.
