Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on-the-job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
• Strong copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
• Familiarity with major style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg, Garner’s).

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, style per standards.
• Ensures uniformity across assessment components and minimizes mistakes.
• Judiciously applies client style guidelines and may modify guidelines as needed.
• Knows the scope of a copyeditor and flags concerns when needed.
• Seeks opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise and training.
