Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Dining Services Aide to join our Dover, DE kitchen. You will prepare and present meals according to recipes, maintain a clean work area, and follow safety and sanitation practices to ensure resident satisfaction.

The role requires Serv-Safe certification (or willingness to complete within 60 days), the ability to read and follow written directions, and the strength to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods. Training and supervision duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in dining services is required.
• Serv-Safe certification or willingness to complete within 60 days of hire.
• Basic understanding of food service operations.
• Ability to read, write and perform simple calculations.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply principles.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Experience in food preparation, cooking and estimating quantities.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety principles for food and equipment.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and handle temperature extremes, humidity, noise.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly or eight times per shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items per standard recipes.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area at all times.
• Assist in weekly cleaning routines with the Dining Services Director.
• Report faulty equipment and chipped tableware to supervisor.
• Monitor refrigerator temperatures and record twice daily.
• Ensure leftovers are cooled, stored, identified and dated.
• Observe safety practices and control portion sizes to reduce waste.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of directors and train new employees.
• Attend required in-service sessions and staff meetings.
