Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC is seeking a Cook to prepare meals for residents at our Delaware community, following approved menus and recipes and accommodating dietary needs. The role includes supervising dietary staff when the Dining Services Director is away and ensuring a safe, clean kitchen.

Responsibilities include maintaining temps, reporting equipment issues, participating in trainings, and assisting with next-day meal prep. A Serv-Safe certification or commitment to obtain it is required.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in dining services.
• Must be Serv-Safe certified, or within 60 days of hire.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply new principles.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Experience in food preparation, cooking and estimating quantities.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety in handling food/equipment.
• Able to stand long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of Dining Services Director.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and adhere to safety standards.
• Monitor refrigerator/freezer temperatures and food temperatures.
• Report faulty equipment or damaged items; manage waste and leftovers.
• Take and record temperatures three times daily; assist in next day prep.
• Attend required in-service and staff meetings; support dietary needs of residents.
