Harmony Senior Services in Newark, DE is seeking a Dietary Aide to support dining services for residents. You will prepare and present menu items, maintain clean kitchen areas, and assist in training staff.

The role requires Serv-Safe certification and a willingness to complete it within 60 days, plus ability to stand long hours, lift 50 lbs, and work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in dining services.
• Must be Serv-Safe certified, or willing to complete certification within 60 days of hire.
• Basic understanding of food service operations.
• Ability to read, write, and do simple calculations.
• Able to follow oral and written directions.
• Experience in food preparation and estimating quantities.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Stand for long periods, lift 50 lbs, and work in temperature extremes.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items according to standard recipes.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
• Participate in weekly cleaning routines planned by Dining Services Director.
• Report faulty equipment and damaged items to supervisor.
• Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures twice daily.
• Ensure leftovers are cooled, stored, identified and dated.
• Observe good safety practices.
• Monitor portion sizes to minimize waste.
• Assist in training new dietary employees.
• Attend required in-service and staff meetings.
• Support in supervising dietary staff in absence of the Directors.
