Job summary

X Energy, LLC is seeking a Manager, Construction Project Engineering for our Oak Ridge site. You will lead a multidisciplinary team across civil, process/mechanical, and E&IC disciplines on nuclear facility projects, ensuring safe, on-time engineering deliverables and adherence to codes.

You will translate project priorities into staffing plans, review technical work, and act as escalation point for critical issues, while fostering growth and maintaining the highest safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction/engineering disciplines; relevant work experience preferred.
• 8–10+ years of heavy construction or nuclear engineering experience.
• Ability to lead, develop, and mentor technical teams and manage workload.
• Strong communication and risk-management skills across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Construction Project Engineers across civil/structural, process/mechanical, and E&IC disciplines.
• Allocate workload and staffing to match task complexity and project scope.
• Review and approve deliverables: CWPs, submittals, NCRs, pay apps, and field changes.
• Provide senior technical guidance and ensure design/code compliance.
• Enforce IH&S guidelines and promote a strong safety culture.
• Coordinate with Construction Managers, Field Engineers, and external consultants.
• Escalate significant issues to senior leadership with recommended resolutions.
• Manage performance, mentor engineers, and develop career plans.
• Identify process improvements in project workflows.
