Job summary

X Energy, LLC seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team on large-scale EPC projects for our Oak Ridge fuel fabrication initiative. You will guide design, analysis, and execution, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

You will manage multi-project resources, drive design sprints, and coordinate with suppliers, contracts, and procurement while mentoring engineers and promoting professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college.
• Typically twelve plus years of professional experience in project engineering after completion of undergraduate study.
• Graduate degrees typically count as two plus years of experience.
• Experience estimating time and resources needed to execute engineering activities.
• Requires specialized knowledge within the function of project engineering management.

Responsibilities

• Manage the execution of engineering design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects.
• Manages the utilization of engineering resources across multiple projects and ensures qualified engineers are performing assigned work.
• Manage design cycle sprints and provide direction to ensure convergence of efforts for on-schedule, on-budget delivery.
• Manages engineering staff by ensuring staff meet expectations and promote professional development.
• Influences development of strategy, methodology, and technical tools for the area, including resource control and policy formulation.
• Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services.
• Uses high level of judgement to make decisions and handle complex tasks in engineering operations and management.
• Assesses quality of information and asks pertinent questions to stakeholders.
• Offers new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and provides actionable recommendations.
• Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team to create the next generation nuclear reactor and related technologies.
• Perform work per design control procedures, document work, facilitate design reviews, and control product design configuration data.
• Maintain professional demeanor and behavior in all communications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
