Job summary

X Energy, LLC is seeking a Construction Project Engineer III in Oak Ridge, TN to lead the full lifecycle of nuclear facility construction projects. You will translate design intent into built reality, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The role interfaces with project managers, superintendents, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results. Responsibilities include coordinating engineering deliverables, enforcing HS&E standards, overseeing materials, and managing

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction/civil/mechanical/nuclear/chemical engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years in heavy construction or nuclear engineering.
• Experience with mechanical equipment installation, piping, HVAC in industrial or nuclear environments.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Coordination: translate design drawings into Construction Work Packages for field personnel.
• Safety & Compliance: adhere to HS&E guidelines, codes, and QA plans.
• Material & Quantity Control: oversee receipt, inspection, storage, track weekly quantities against budget.
• Issue Resolution: manage NCRs and field changes, analyze trends to mitigate risks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: liaison between superintendents, design consultants, project controls, client.
• System Turnover: coordinate with Startup team for handover to operations.
• Assist with growing and developing junior team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
