Job summary

Greystar is seeking an on-site Construction Project Lead to oversee ground-up development and new construction projects. You will manage budgets, schedules, safety, and vendor relationships while coordinating with contractors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The ideal candidate has extensive construction leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to orchestrate multi-disciplinary teams on complex sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience working on similar ground up construction projects with exposure to initial construction through delivery.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team and subcontractors.
• Strong, time management, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Ability to be highly organized, in day-to-day and long-term planning and execution, and to track and maintain complex schedules effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively delegate and negotiate.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with team members, subcontractors and owners in order to foster an exceptional culture at the jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the execution of development and new construction projects by reviewing blueprints and specifications, inspecting work and overseeing contractors to ensure specs and safety measures are met.
• Monitors and manages the project budget by reviewing invoices, analyzing financial statements, and ensuring adherence to company budgeting policies.
• Develops and manages project timetable by prioritizing tasks and adjusting for delays to stay on schedule and within budget.
• Supervises work at the construction site by monitoring contractors, adjusting staffing levels, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and plan specs.
• Provides regular progress updates to key business leaders, equity partners, and project contacts through routine reports and communications.
• Assists in assembling onsite construction teams by selecting members and engaging contractors, while managing performance.
