Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. seeks a skilled CNC Programmer to design and optimize multi-axis CNC programs using Siemens NX/NX-CAM. You will validate toolpaths with Vericut in a virtual environment before production and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to integrate new machines and establish standards.

You will develop adaptive probing routines, CLM processes, and macro programming to ensure high accuracy on large-format machines, while mentoring floor staff and supporting daily CNC operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or Machinist Apprentice (or similar) graduate with 3 years of experience with graphical based CAM System CNC Programming OR High School Degree w/6 years of experience with graphical based CAM System CNC Programming.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize high-efficiency CNC programs for complex multi-axis setups cutting high-temperature superalloys (Inconel, Rene, and exotic nickels).
• Use digital twin software (Vericut) to validate code and optimize toolpaths in a risk-free virtual environment before hitting the shop floor.
• Develop adaptive probing routines, macro programming, and closed-loop machining processes to make complex setups smooth and predictable.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineers and shop-floor teams to commission new multi-million-dollar machine tools and establish baseline machining standards.
• Act as a technical mentor and partner on floor-troubleshooting setups, proving out first-piece components, and sharing knowledge across the team.
• Support large VTL, VMB, 5-axis mill, multi-purpose turn/grind machines up to 2.5m.
• Generate CNC programs utilizing NX-CAM or other software for multi-axis milling, turning, grinding and/or EDM.
• Create programs following standards and qualified machining parameters.
• Provide CNC related support to M.E. and operator training during new/rebuilt machine startup and process improvements.
• Provide daily operator support in the form of CNC programming and troubleshooting on the shop floor.
• Support and implement tooling & fixturing requirements for CNC machine tools.
• Generate and support workstation instructions (methods) for CNC issues.
• Initiate and lead process improvement projects to improve safety, quality, cost and delivery.
• Communicate effectively with team members as needed.
• Work both independently and in a team in a matrixed organization.
• Adapt to fast-paced environment and drive positive change outside and inside the organization.
