Job summary

RTCA seeks a qualified Lead CNC Machinist (Lathe) to join our on-site team in Fife, WA. You will set up, run, and lead a multi-axis CNC lathe department on swing shifts, ensuring quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.

You will inspect parts, follow scheduling objectives, and communicate effectively with the team. Candidates should have leadership experience, strong math and print-reading skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Lead/Supervisor or other leadership role.
• Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials and processes.
• Understanding of machinery (Lathes).
• History of good work standards, quality and team participation.
• Competent in operation and performance of multiple machining tools.
• Computer skills; ability to look up files as necessary.
• Ability to qualify simple parts using inspection equipment.
• Good mathematical and print reading skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Works independently, follows instructions and concentrates for long periods.
• Communicates well verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run and lead multi-axis CNC lathe department.
• Inspect parts using gauging and inspection equipment for conformance.
• Meet productivity and quality targets and pursue continuous improvement.
• Follow scheduling guidelines and delivery objectives.
• Communicate information effectively with team; be a team player.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
• Report machine or process problems to Foreman/Manager.
• Perform multiple tasks across several machines.
