Job summary

PrideStaff is seeking a hands-on Lead CNC Lathe Technician in Sumner, WA. You will lead a small team across two shifts, set up and run 2-axis and multi-axis lathes with sub-spindles, and program using Mastercam to deliver high-quality parts.

The role requires 5+ years in CNC lathe machining, 3+ years in a lead capacity, and strong communication in English. A strong emphasis on safety, attendance, and continuous improvement is placed on a dynamic shop floor.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a lead in a machine shop.
• 5+ years of CNC lathe machining; mills familiarity is a bonus.
• Detail-obsessed, analytical, and clear English communicator (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Lead and schedule a 1–3 person production team across two shifts.
• Set up and run 2-axis and multi-axis CNC lathes with sub-spindles for repeatable output.
• Program and edit fundamentals in Mastercam for CNC lathe operations; keep setup sheets current.
• Plan fixturing and tooling strategies tailored to each work order.
• Safeguard uptime: monitor machines, resolve issues, and maintain part conformity.
• Own in-process inspections using precision measurement tools; mentor teammates and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with Programming, Tooling, the Production Scheduler, and the General Manager to hit deadlines.
• Ensure labor tickets, time cards, and work order paperwork are accurate and complete.
• Model safety-first behavior: PPE compliance and a spotless, organized workspace.
