Job summary

RTCA seeks a qualified Lead CNC Machinist (Lathe) to join our on-site team in Fife, WA. You will set up, run, and lead a multi-axis CNC lathe department on swing shifts, ensuring quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.

You will inspect parts, follow scheduling objectives, and communicate effectively with the team. Candidates should have leadership experience, strong math and print-reading skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Lead/Supervisor or other leadership role.
• Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials and processes.
• Understanding of machinery (Lathes).
• History of good work standards, quality and team participation.
• Competent in operation and performance of multiple machining tools.
• Computer skills; ability to look up files as necessary.
• Ability to qualify simple parts using inspection equipment.
• Good mathematical and print reading skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Works independently, follows instructions and concentrates for long periods.
• Communicates well verbally and in writing.

Qualified Lead CNC Machinist (Lathe) will have the exemplary manufacturing skills, a working knowledge and experience on a variety of CNC machines and controls, and a dedication to being part of a world class manufacturing team.

What you’ll be doing as a CNC Multi-Axis Lathe Setup Lead (Swing Shifts):

• Working a Full-time, onsite position at our Fife, WA location. (Swing Shift - M-Th, 3:15pm-1:45am)
• Has the ability to setup, run and lead multi-axis CNC lathe department.
• Inspect work using gaging and inspection equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
• Meet department and personal expectations for productivity, quality, and strive for continuous improvement.
• Follow guidelines for work scheduling and understand delivery objectives.
• Communicate pertinent information well with others, and is a company/ team player.
• Good work ethic and maintains good attendance. (Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position).
• Report any machine or process problems or variances to Foreman/Manager.
• Able to perform multiple tasks, running several machines simultaneously.
• Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of equipment and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

• Previous experience as a Lead/Supervisor, or other leadership role.
• Previous Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials and processes.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

• Five years’ experience in the manufacturing industry with knowledge of speeds and feeds and two years of lead or other leadership experience
• Experience with MS applications
• Strong skills and aptitude in math

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The CNC Lathe Machinist Lead (Swing Shift) Compensation rangefor onsite Washington applicants is $35/hr - $50/hr commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
