Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Lead Medical Laboratory Technologist for the Evening shift (2:30pm-11pm) to supervise the Clinical Lab. The role includes directing daily operations, providing technical consultation, and driving quality improvements across multiple disciplines.

The ideal candidate has ASCP certification or equivalent, a bachelor's in a health science, and at least five years of hospital lab experience with an active state license where required.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
• Minimum five years of hospital laboratory work experience required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or MLT from an accredited institution, or CLIA-aligned education.
• Current and valid state license if required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operation of the section(s) and serve as Lead or Section Supervisor.
• Provide consultative services to medical staff as Technical Consultant.
• Oversee performance improvement programs and hospital interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Manage technical and fiscal aspects of the section(s) and ensure quality programs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements; assess staff competency.
• Verify accuracy of patient results prior to release and report; maintain policies and procedures.
• Maintain equipment maintenance documentation and ensure proficiency testing.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness policies; LIS/POC duties may be assigned.
