Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to accelerate our State and Local Government & Higher Education business within the World Wide Public Sector. This role owns technical engagements, defines architectures, responds to RFPs, and becomes a SME on security for customer applications.

You will lead architectural discussions, educate customers on AWS value, and collaborate with sales and delivery teams to drive cloud adoption and successful deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.

Responsibilities

• As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our customers while working with a world class sales and business development team.
• Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
• Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, Service Teams and Support.
