A leading healthcare organization seeks a Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist to oversee laboratory operations, ensuring compliance and quality. The role involves collaboration with team members and other departments, requiring strong knowledge in medical technology and relevant certifications. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after a complete review of the EDRP application.
Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientists facilitate team or unit processes by working in collaboration with team members to ensure that tasks, priorities, goals, and achievements are coordinated with management. Responsible for all aspects of laboratory operation, including record keeping, report preparation, testing methodology analysis, training, instrumentation, and compliance. Acts as a liaison to other departments within the medical center for the Immunohematology Department.
Applicants pending completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.

Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist, GS-12:
Assignments: Significant scope, complexity, and range of duties performed at least 25% of the time by the CLS.
Experience: One year of creditable experience at the next lower grade level.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of medical technology, troubleshooting skills, procedure development, management abilities, and guidance provision.
The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-12.
