Zusammenfassung

Qualus is seeking a Lead Civil Structural Engineer in our Engineering department to design and detail mat and pier foundations for substation structures and to design subst ation structures ranging from equipment supports to overhead line towers.

The role requires ABET-accredited civil engineering credentials, PE licensure, 6+ years in civil structural calculations, and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation. Remote work options are available across multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelors of Science or Masters in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 6+ years of experience performing civil structural engineering calculations.
• Proficient with drafting programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation a plus.
• Active Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Experience in transmission, distribution and generating stations is a plus.
• Must have strong analytical and computer skills. Must be able to identify necessary software to complete needed design work.

Aufgaben

• Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects.
• Work with renewable energy developers and other clients with support specific to schedules and cost estimates.
• Design foundations using commercially available software such as LPILE.
• Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
• Perform company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with our external business partners; Present information and respond to questions from individual or groups of clients.
• Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
• Mentor less experienced staff on a wide range of technical and project management skills.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
