Job summary

Bohler in Delaware seeks a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead site design efforts, including grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting, across demanding projects. You’ll act as a technical resource, ensuring quality, constructability, and compliance while mentoring junior team members.

The role involves hydrology calculations, teamwork with clients and regulators, and contributing to project budgets and schedules. A PE is beneficial; EIT or in progress is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements
• Detail‑oriented approach with strong problem‑solving and communication skills
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination
