Job summary

Bohler’s Columbus, OH office seeks a Senior Civil Design Engineer ready to lead technical projects in site design and permitting. You’ll oversee grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater, serving as a trusted resource for the team and helping drive complex, high‑profile Columbus area projects.

As a senior designer you’ll mentor junior staff while collaborating with clients, regulators, and contractors to ensure design quality, constructability, and compliance across projects from concept

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
• Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
