Job summary

Bohler’s Fairfield, CT office is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead complex land development and site design projects in Southern Connecticut. You’ll work with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs, focusing on grading, utilities, stormwater, and permitting.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, collaboration, and growth, with mentorship and opportunities to progress toward project leadership while supporting budgeting and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5+ years of land development design and permitting experience.
• PE license preferred; EIT required or in progress.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• Knowledge of local zoning and permitting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance
• Collaborate with junior engineers and designers
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination
