Job summary

Bohler Engineering Group seeks a Senior Civil Design Engineer in Washington DC to lead site design, grading, utilities, and permitting. Youll serve as a trusted technical resource, helping ensure design quality, constructability, and compliance on high-profile projects across the DC area.

Youll collaborate with engineers and project leaders, review deliverables, mentor junior staff, and support budgeting and planning efforts while advancing your technical leadership in land development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting.
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
