Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Senior CEI Inspector to lead advanced construction inspection on transportation projects in the Cartersville, GA area. You will supervise inspectors, ensure plan/spec compliance, and perform contract administration tasks while supporting project documentation and close-out activities.

The role requires GDOT certifications, field reporting, and strong knowledge of highway/bridge construction. Local travel and a valid GA driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of progressive transportation technician experience with a State Highway Agency or consultant.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related experience.
• Experience inspecting roadway and bridge construction projects.
• Experience serving as a lead inspector and coordinating inspection personnel.
• Passing GDOT Construction Inspection Training tests – Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3.
• GDOT WECS and GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification.
• GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control).
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and maintaining inspection reports and project records.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain construction plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced-level construction engineering inspection work supporting roadway and bridge construction projects.
• Conduct materials sampling, inspection, and testing to verify project requirements.
• Serve as Lead Project Inspector, performing complex inspections of roadway and structure construction activities.
• Supervise lower-level inspectors and coordinate inspection activities.
• Monitor construction processes and materials for compliance with plans and contract requirements.
• Exercise independent judgment in evaluating construction activities and resolving field issues.
• Perform contract administration duties, including field measurements of pay items and documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and close-out activities.
• Assist with project engineering duties on transportation projects as assigned.
• Support LAP compliance and project administration activities.
