Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Goleta, CA is seeking a Head Cashier to lead a fast-paced front-end team and deliver exceptional customer service. You will supervise cashiers and courtesy clerks, schedule breaks, assist with hiring and training, and ensure smooth register operations.

The role requires 1-2 years cashiering with leadership training and a high school diploma, ability to lift 30 lbs, flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and strong math and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age; HS diploma or GED and 1–2 years cashiering with leadership training.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor; a role model in behavior.
• Operate front-end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
• Strong communication; able to take direction and work in a team.
• Multi-task, stay organized and detail-oriented.
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs; move carts up to 35 lbs; endure up to 50 hrs.
• Proficient in cash handling and basic math; read, write and count.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor cashiers and courtesy clerks; ensure excellent customer service.
• Assist with customer issues at the register and oversee store sweeps.
• Monitor cash register supply levels and cleanliness of restrooms and parking lots.
• Maintain exit door security visibility and assist with loss prevention.
• Schedule and oversee breaks per policy and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring and training new cashiers; apply disciplinary actions as needed.
