Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is hiring a Head Cashier in California to oversee a team of cashiers and ensure smooth front-end operations. You’ll guide staff at registers, assist with customer issues, and help maintain store standards and security alongside shift scheduling and breaks.

This role requires 1–2 years cashiering experience with leadership training, strong math and cash handling skills, and a friendly, proactive demeanor. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old; possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Be dependable; able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior, positive attitude, ability to interact with customers as a role model.
• Operate front end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
• Strong communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to perform repetitious tasks, multi-task, prioritize and stay organized.
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move carts up to 50 hours per week.
• Proficiency with numbers; cash handling and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of cashiers and assist with operational issues.
• Provide direction and support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks at registers.
• Assist in customer service issues at the register.
• Schedule and oversee meal and rest breaks per policy and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers and disciplinary steps as needed.
