Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to oversee the operation, inspection and maintenance of building systems on-site in Taylor, MI. You will assist in supervising the team and implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure safe, reliable facilities.

The role requires 3–5 years of related experience, trade school or equivalent training, and licenses such as Low Pressure Boiler Operator and 3rd Class Refrigeration. On-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance).
• Low Pressure Boiler Operator license required.
• 3rd Class Refrigeration License required.
• Leadership/supervisory experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with ladders up to 30 feet.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain CMMS work orders and respond to tenant service requests.
• Provide training and supervision to expand the Engineering team's capabilities.
• Support on-call or emergency response situations as needed.
• Troubleshoot building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
