Job summary

Boston Housing Authority (BHA) seeks a Maintenance Superintendent I to supervise a team performing building maintenance and custodial tasks across properties in the Greater Boston area. You will review drawings, assign work, and ensure high standards of upkeep and safety.

The role requires substantial maintenance experience, supervisory ability, and familiarity with building systems. Starting salary is posted, with comprehensive BHA benefits and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to two years in a trade or vocational school with building construction or shop courses.
• Considerable experience in general building maintenance, preferably with supervision.
• Familiarity with methods, tools, materials and equipment for building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of workers in building maintenance and custodial tasks.
• Study drawings and inspect premises to determine work needed.
• Assign work, advise on methods, and inspect progress and completion.
• Keep records of work performed and prepare reports on supervised activities.
• Maintain estimates and requisition materials and supplies.
• Perform related duties as required.
