Job summary

FirstService Residential in Boston seeks an Assistant Building Engineer to keep the building safe, compliant and livable. You will supervise inspections, perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and coordinate vendors and staff.

Your duties include planning modifications, scheduling state inspections, maintaining logs, and ensuring permits. You will respond to emergencies, possibly after hours or weekends, and support a high-rise property with strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• HOA/residential maintenance experience of 2+ years.
• Property/high-rise management experience of 2+ years.
• Handyman skills in electrical, plumbing and HVAC; 2+ years preferred.
• EPA 608 Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building and systems in safe working order.
• Manage preventive inspection and maintenance schedules.
• Keep accurate logs and paperwork for operations and repairs.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, projects and repairs.
• Plan and implement building modifications and improvements.
• Schedule state inspections of building and equipment.
• Ensure building has required permits.
• Handle emergency maintenance timeliness and safety.
• Maintain emergency response plan with vendors and contacts.
• Respond to emergencies including weekends or overnights.
